BASSETERRE ST. KITTS (January 14, 2012) — More than twelve hours after the world would have witnessed a messy launch of the Apple iPhone 4S in China, LIME in St. Kitts and Nevis observed a soft launch of the acclaimed product on Friday January 13, with the presentation of the first device to Prime Minister, the Right Hon Dr Denzil Douglas.

LIME’s General Manager Mr David Lake presented the iPhone 4S to the Prime Minister at the communication company’s flagship shop on Cayon Street in Basseterre at a low key ceremony that was only witnessed by persons who were in the shop conducting various businesses at LIME.

“The Prime Minister is first LIME Apple iPhone 4S customer,” said Mr Lake after he presented the phone to the Rt Hon Dr Denzil Douglas. “As the head of the nation we found it fitting that he be the first user.”

Asked what he expects from his new iPhone 4S, the Prime Minister said: “Having heard David Lake, the General Manager here, I am enthused. I will now, maybe in a way, determine after a day or two whether his words have come to pass. But he is a man with a lot of credibility so I believe him and I expect the best in the use and function of this phone.”

The phone has been described as an intelligent assistant which sends text messages by voice command, takes lifelike photographs and video footage that is editable on the phone. It is said that the iPhone 4S will change the way people communicate.

“The iPhone 4S is Apple’s latest phone. It is actually not just a phone; they are calling it ‘your everything device’ because it is capable of doing so much,” said Mr Lake. “Actually it has a very good 8 megapixel camera, it takes high definition video and it has tons of features.”

The iPhone 4S is available in three models, the 16GB, the 32GB and the 64GB, and the General Manger said that LIME has exclusively partnered with Apple to market the phone in the Caribbean. It is packed with incredible new features including Apple’s dual-core A5 chip for blazing fast performance and stunning graphics. The previous model was the iPhone 4 which was a hit.

“You could only get the iPhone 4S at LIME and I would like to encourage customers to make sure they do so as soon as possible because this phone is always in top demand, always in short supply,” said Mr Lake. “If you want to get one you better hurry and you get yours.”
