PM Douglas to announce fiscal stimulus for consumers shopping locally

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, DECEMBER 14TH 2011 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas is to make a major announcement in the National Assembly on Thursday.
Dr. Douglas is expected to announce a fiscal stimulus for consumers shopping in St. Kitts and Nevis when he wraps up debate on the Appropriations (2012) Bill 2011.
The details of the fiscal stimulus were worked out on Tuesday between Prime Minister Douglas and Ministry of Finance officials on Tuesday with representatives of the St. Kitts and Nevis Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
Dr. Douglas will disclose more information during the National Assembly meeting on Thursday which resumes at 10 a.m.
