PM Harris Endorses Careers In Construction

(ZIZ News) — Prime Minister, the Hon. Dr. Timothy Harris says the Government is taking steps to ensure that nationals can capitalize on the growing construction sector.

Speaking during a tour of the ongoing Koi Resort Project, Prime Minister Harris said as investors choose St. Kitts-Nevis for their projects, he wants nationals to be able to equip themselves to take advantage of the opportunities.

“We want to ensure that the skills are certified and people can find, within St. Kitts and Nevis, the quality engineers carpenters, masons, job supervisors, contractors, etcétera to do the kind of development which is taking place now and which we envisage will continue long into the future,” he said.

He said he has met with representatives from the engineering firm, Moorjani Caribbean Limited, to hold a job fair to promote the benefits of a career in the construction industry.

“Where we talk about construction, the human resource requirements for the industry so that our people in our secondary schools, colleges and institutions can be exposed, and can be incentivised into this particular line of activity,” he said.
