PM Harris: IPSA’s recommendations represent concerns of Team Unity
(ZIZ News) — While the recommendations made by IPSA International in its 2014 report represent a thorough analysis of the country’s Citizenship by Investment [CBI] Programme, many of the recommendations represent the views of Team Unity.
In the lead up to the 2015 General Elections, Team Unity remained adamant that the country’s CBI Programme needed to be restructured.
According to Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Timothy Harris, his government will adopt the recommendations of the expert risk management group. He said the decision to adopt the recommendations was easy as they represent some of his administration’s concerns.
“Certainly, we had said that the programme needed reform and restructuring. The report which the ex-regime did indicate that,” he said, adding that “They were more specific in terms of identifying critical areas and through 20 recommendations, basically said if you do this, you can redeem and restore confidence into that programme, you can deal with laxities of control, you could deal with the issue of tardiness et cetera et cetera so, I would say they are in sync with the broad thrust of our position while in opposition.”
