PM Harris to Address Climate Conference

(ZIZ News) — Prime Minister, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, is expected to address world leaders at the upcoming United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference in Paris, France.

A release issued by the St. Kitts and Nevis Information Service, on Saturday, states that Dr. Harris’ address will come on the opening day of the conference, which runs from November 30 – December 11.

ZIZ News understands that the discussions will be geared towards mitigating the acute differences between developed and developing countries in addressing the threat of global warming.

The conference is expected to attract close to 50 thousand participants with nearly 150 Heads of Government.

The national delegation also includes Minister of Public Infrastructure, Posts, Urban Development and Transport, Hon. Ian Liburd; Foreign Service Officer, Bjorn Hazel; Assistant Physical Planning Officer, Cheryl Jeffers; Chairman of Development, Planning and Control Board, Calvin Pemberton; Senior Environmental Officer, June Hughes; Commercial Attaché at the St. Kitts and Nevis High Commission in London, Gurdip Bath and Permanent Representative to UNESCO, Dr. David Doyle.
