Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 19, 2019 (ZIZ News): The Police have confirmed that remains found in Lower Market Street are that of a dead animal.

This comes after several videos and photos were circulated via social media showing what looked like a team from the Forensic Services Unit wearing gloves and masks entering and exiting a building.

Police say a few media houses had also shared inaccurate information suggesting that a human body was found in a building in the area on Wednesday afternoon, which led to increased speculation.

In a statement released by the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Public Relations Department, media houses were advised to “take time to confirm” before sharing information of this nature in such a haste.
