Police Investigates Armed Robbery at Community Center

Basseterre, St. Kitts (RSCNPF) — The Criminal Investigations Department of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is currently investigating a report of an Armed Robbery at the St. Johnston’s Community Center on Friday (September 11th) around 7.05pm.

The report made by the victims indicated that a group of students from a local University were using the facility for an activity and were approached by six (6) armed assailants. The assailants, five (5) males and one (1) female robbed the victims of cell phones, iPads, ATM Cards, cash, identification cards and other personal items.

The victims reported that the male assailants wore dark coloured clothing while the female was dressed in a yellow T-shirt and brown trousers. They also stated that the assailants left in a northerly direction. No one was injured in the incident. Technicians from the Forensic Services Unit processed the Crime Scene and further investigations are ongoing by the CID.

Assistant Commissioner of Police with responsibility for Crime – ACP Queeley said that Detectives of the Criminal Investigations Department have interviewed all the victims, and would like to make a call on the general public to call the CID if they have any knowledge of what transpired in the area on Friday night.”

The ACP stressed, “If you have seen something, if you have heard something as it relates to this or any violent crime, or any criminal activity, tell someone. Call the Violent Crimes Unit at the Basseterre or Charlestown Police Station or any police station with your information.”
