Police investigating a number of shooting incidents and robbery

ZIZ News…March 25, 2013 — A number of persons are in custody following some shooting incidents, one of which left one person hospitalized with a gun shot wound to the face.

According to a Police Release, the Basseterre Police Station responded to a report at Builders Paradise where workplace violence between two employees resulted in a shooting incident.

Initial investigation revealed that at about 4:10pm an employee at the business establishment received a gun shot wound and taken to the hospital. One person is currently in police custody assisting with the investigation.

Meanwhile, on Sunday 24 March 2013 at about 10:14 pm police responded to a report that shots were fired at Bromble Street, Newtown. Investigations revealed that no one was injured but a firearm was recovered at the scene, and two (2) males are currently in police custody assisting with the investigation.

The police are also investigating an attempted robbery at Kings Pavilion at about 9:15 pm on 23 March 2013.

An armed assailant attempted to rob an employee of the business who used karate to defend himself against the gun man who left empty handed.
