Police Investigating Homicide in Nevis

Basseterre, St. Kitts (RSCNPF) — The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is currently investigating the death of Mr. Albert Myers of Stoney Grove, Nevis.

According to Superintendent Hilroy Brandy, Head of the Nevis Division, officers from the Charlestown Police Station paid a welfare call to the residence of the deceased this morning at the request of family members who had not heard from him. He said “upon arrival, the officers noticed the door to the residence was ajar and upon entering the home for further investigation, found the lifeless body of the victim.”

Superintendent Brandy continued “the officer’s early observation of the victim noted gunshot wounds to body.” It was also noted that the victim’s auto mobile was missing from the premises and was later found in a bushy area at Pinney’s Beach.

A comprehensive forensic examination of the vehicle is ongoing and a homicide investigation is being conducted by the the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) of the RSCNPF and assisted by British law enforcement consultants.

“We urge anyone with information that can assist the police in identifying and apprehending the perpetrator(s) of this crime, or any other crime to call any Police Station in the federation or Crime Stoppers, our confidential hotline, at 1-800-8477 to share information,” stressed Superintendent Brandy.
