Police Investigating Shooting in Shadwell Estate

(ZIZ News) – Two males escaped death on Sunday night after they were shot at approximately 8:10 at a home in Shadwell Estate.

The victims have been identified as 26 year old Glenroy Rawlins of Buckley’s Estate and 27 year old Allan Phipps of New Road Housing Development.

A release from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force says the “males were shot by an unknown assailant” while they were “sitting with a group of persons on a verandah at a home in the area.”

The assailant reportedly fired several gunshots at the group.

Assistant Commissioner of Police for Crime Ian Queeley is quoted in the release as saying “this is the third such incident this year, three too many, and it will take the efforts of the police, the community, all of us to rid our communities of this type of activity and ensure citizen safety and safe communities.”
