Police make arrests, escaped prisoner surrendered
RSCNPF, Basseterre, St. Kitts, (Friday 6th May 2011). Police at the Criminal Investigations Department have formally arrested and charged two (2) persons for robbery on a number of warrants in the first instance.
The two were previously arrested on suspicion of burglary and robbery which were committed at Atlantic View, Conaree on Tuesday 25th April 2011. The two persons who were charged on two counts of robbery are as follows:
• 24 year-old Leon “Solo” Jederon of Conaree Village
• 19 year-old Jahmari “Mari” Lake of Shadwell Estate
Investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile at approximately 9:30 am on Friday 6th May 2011 a family member of recently escaped prisoner Kyam Omari Veira of Godwin Ghaut surrendered him to police at the Basseterre Police Station. Veira escaped police custody at the lockup at the Sandy Point Police Station at approximately 6:55 pm on Monday 2nd May 2011 after he was charged with the murder of Sherwin Williams of Godwin Ghaut. Veira is likely to face charges of escaping lawful custody. Investigations into this matter are ongoing.
