Police Updates (27 July 2015)

(ZIZ News) — Girish Huranandoni of Frigate Bay was convicted and fined $500.00 or 14 days imprisonment for driving without due care and attention which was committed on 20th March 2015.

Eighteen (18) year old Firon Roberts of John Street was formally arrested and charged for Riding Motorcycle PA 1173 when it was not insured or licensed, which occurred on 17th July 2015.

Six (6) Point Plan Initiatives continues to Produce Results

In its continued implementation of its Crime Interdiction Initiatives, during the week 12th to 18th July 2015, members of the Security Forces carried a number of operations.

On Friday 17th July 2015 early in the morning a joint operation in the Saddlers and Parson Village by the Security Forces resulted in two (2) persons arrested and a large number of marijuana plants uprooted and seized.

During the operation search warrants were executed on the premises of residents of Saddlers Village and Parson Village when the contraband was found. Also, Jorelle Mulley of Parsons Village was stopped and searched on suspicion of having illegal drugs or firearm in his possession. He was found in possession of vegetable material suspected to be marijuana, and was taken into police custody.

Bernel Doyling of Seabreeze Saddlers Village was formally arrested and charged for Possession of Cannabis, Possession with Intent to Supply and Cultivation of Cannabis, he received bail and is scheduled to appear before the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on 11th August 2015.

Oniel Doyling of Seabreeze Saddlers Village was formally arrested and charged for Possession of Cannabis, Possession with Intent to Supply and Cultivation of Cannabis, he received bail and is scheduled to appear before the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on 11th August 2015.

Jorelle Mulley of Parson Ground was formally arrested and charged for Possession of Cannabis, Possession with Intent to Supply and Cultivation of Cannabis, he received bail and is scheduled to appear before the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on 11th August 2015.

Derrick Wattley of Grove Village St. Pauls was formally arrested and charged for Obstruction and Driving his vehicle with tinted windows, which occurred at Christ Church on 16th July 2015. Wattley received bail and is scheduled to make an appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on Monday 27th July 2015.

At the end of the operations there were; 9 search warrants executed, 4 derelict vehicles searched, 193 vehicles stopped and searched, 101 persons stopped and searched, 5 abandon houses searched, 7 empty lot of land searched, 154 marijuana plants were uprooted and taken into police custody, 9 jetties and ferries were searched, 5 person were arrested for drug related offences, and 32 traffic ticket were issued for various traffic offences including seatbelt and tint.

One person hospitalised following Traffic Accident

An investigator at Cotton Ground Police Station is investigating the circumstances by which a traffic accident occurred on Friday 17th July 2015 about 11:20 pm along the Island Main Road at Pinney’s Estate which resulted in one person being hospitalised.

Initial investigations revealed that Wayne Weaver of Cliff dwellers driving motor jeep PA 8812 from Pinney’s Beach to Jessups village when the accident occurred; the vehicle struck a curb wall on the mountain side of the road before overturned in a small ditch.

The vehicle was extensively damaged. Wayne Weaver was transported to the Alexandra hospital after sustaining injuries to his head.

Pedestrian transported to hospital after being struck by moving vehicle

An investigator at the Traffic Department in St. Kitts is investigating the circumstances by which a pedestrian was struck by a moving vehicle which occurred about 6:15 pm on Saturday 18th July 2015 along East Independence Square Street.

Initial investigations revealed Chantel Lucas of George Street, Newtown was struck by motor jeep P 1786 which was driven by Vernal Dore of Sea View Gardens.

Chantel was transported in an ambulance to the Joseph N France General Hospital for medical attention.

Four (4) persons transported to hospital following Traffic Accident

An investigator at the Sandy Point Police Station is investigating the circumstances by which a traffic accident occurred along the Island Main Road at The Alley, Sandy Point about12:30 pm on Saturday 18th July 2015 which resulted in four (4) persons being transported to the Pogson Medical Centre.

Initial investigations revealed that motor omni buses HA 309 driven by Winston Rogers of Half Way Tree and TA 163 driven by Glenville Roger of Sandy Point were travelling in the same direction with HA 309 in front. Motor omni bus HA 309 stopped and motor omni bus TA 163 collided to the rear of HA 309. The four (4) passengers that were travelling on HA 309 were transported to the Pogson Medial Centre for medical attention.
