Police Updates (July 14, 2015)

(ZIZ News) –The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is fully committed in executing and achieving the desired results of its mandate.

On Saturday 11th July 2015 about 3:45 a.m members of the Security Forces conducted an operation at Port Zante which led to the stop and search of motor car PA 7161 owned and driven by Hashes Gaskin of Cayon. One (1) semi automatic pistol and matching rounds of ammunition were discovered and seized. Gaskin and the find were taken into police custody.

Gaskin is also considered a person of interest in a murder investigation and will questioned in relation to the murder.

On Monday 13th July 2015 Gaskin was formally arrested and charged for Possession of Fire Arm and Possession of Ammunition.

In other News: The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force in collaboration with local and regional partners carried out an exhaustive search for missing teen Wilson Caines of Dieppe Bay in and around the waters of the Federation and nearby Islands. Wilson Caines and Christ Dorsette also of Dieppe Bay went on a fishing expedition on Tuesday 30th June 2015 approximately 7:30 a.m, their fishing vessel capsized. Dorsette managed to swim to shore, however, Caines have not been found.

The search was conducted for almost two (2) weeks, and on Wednesday 8th July 2015 the vessel was located off the coast of St. Croix by the Puerto Rican Air Guard.

The active search has been called off.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force takes this opportunity to thank the local fishermen, St. Kitts Nevis Coast Guard, The Maritime Research Coordination Centre (MRCC) out of Fort de France, Martinique, a unit of the French Navy, The Regional Security System (RSS) Air Wing, and The Coast Guard of St. Eustatius for their valuable and dedicated service rendered.
