Police Updates (July 16, 2014)

ZIZ News — Arrests

Istan Mitcham of Upper Market Street was formally arrested and charged for Possession of Cannabis, which was committed on 12th July 2014.

Joshua Dedier of Main Street Saddlers and Olanzo Alexander of New Road Housing Project were formally arrested and charged for Unlawful Possession, which was committed on 12th July 2014.

Jamillah Weekes of Caunt Street, Newtown was formally arrested and charged for Larceny, which was committed between 30th May, 2013 and 29th May, 2014.

Court Convictions

St. Christopher Circuit Court Sentences Handed Down

Clayton Laws of Nevis Street, Basseterre was convicted for Rape which was committed on 28th May, 2014, and he was sentenced to fifteen (15) years in prison on 11th July 2014; time spent on remand to be counted.

Wendell Welcome of Mansion Village was convicted for Unlawful Carnal Knowledge on 20th February 2014, and 11th July 2014 he was sentenced to sixteen (16) years in prison; time spent on remand to be counted.

District “B” Magistrate’s Court

Toby Cannonier was convicted for Possession of Cannabis, and fined $1500.00 which is to be paid by 31 August 2014.
