Police Updates (July 16, 2015)

(ZIZ News) — Kurt Collins alias ‘Austin Powers’ of Parry’s Village St. Peter’s, was convicted for Threatening to kill a port officer on 3rd April 2014. He was reprimanded and discharged for the offence.

Sylvester James of Buckley’s was convicted for possession of firearm and possession of ammunitions was convicted and sentenced to four (4) years hard labour.

Quincy Duncan alias Nugga of Ponds Road Basseterre was convicted for Indecent Language and Obstruction, which was committed on 3rd January 2015 at Sandy Point. He was ordered to pay a fine of $500.00 on each charge by 12th August 2015 or in default 30 days imprisonment on each charge to run concurrently.

Kimmoy France of Nisbett Settlement was convicted for Possession of Cannabis. He was fined $15000.00 or six (6) months imprisonment.

Dennis French of Saddlers Village was convicted for Driving an Unlicensed Vehicle and Driving without insurance.

In other News: Police continue to reassure citizens, residents, and visitors about their safety and security.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) in its promise to the Federation on its ongoing efforts to combat crime have continued its operations during last week. The High Command of the RSCNPF is of the view that with these ongoing operations many persons will feel and will be inconvenienced, but, the support and assistance of all is solicited.

During these operations 260 persons were stopped and searched, 1 persons was arrested, 6 motor cars were stopped and searched, 2 warrants were executed, 1 firearms was founds and seized, 8 rounds of ammunition were found and seized, 1 ferry searched, 10 knives were found at a bar at Frigate Bay, 2 scissors were found at a bar at Frigate Bay, 4 empty plots of land were searched, and 1/4 of marijuana was found and seized at a bar at Frigate Bay.

The High Command of the RSCNPF has received support and commendation from many citizens and residents on the measures that have been put in place as part of the Force’s crime fighting initiative.
