Police Updates (November 10, 2014)

PoliceUpdateFilePhoto(ZIZ News)– Malik Zain of Angelus Frigate Bay was formally arrested and charged for driving without insurance and driving without a valid or unexpired driver’s license, which were committed on 7th November 2014 about 11:00 AM at Basseterre.

Faran Kan of Angelus Frigate Bay was formally arrested and charged for obstruction and battery on police, which were committed on 7th November 2014 about 11:00 AM at Basseterre.

Jamien Wilkes of Upper Market Street was formally arrested and charged for threatening language, which was committed on 7th November 2014.

Holden Hull of Spooners Village, Cayon was formally arrested and charged for inflicting grievous bodily harm, which was committed on 4th November 2014 at Spooners Village, Cayon.

Shaquille Browne of Conyers who was on bail for Building Breaking and Larceny which was committed on 30th December 2013, attempted to leave the Federation without informing the court. His bail was revoked and he has been remanded at Her Majesty’s Prison pending his trial.

Meanwhile, Eustace Thompson of Lower Monkey Hill was convicted for Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition which were committed on 25th August 2014 at Greenlands, and sentenced to three (3) years in prison on each charge, which are to run concurrently.

Ian Pemberton of Lower Monkey Hill was convicted for Battery on police and escaping lawful custody which were committed on 15th December 2013, and sentenced to six(6) months in prison on each charge, which are to run concurrently.

Keith Murray of Old Road was convicted for Possession of Cannabis which was committed on 21st September 2013 at the Strip, Frigate Bay, and fined $5,000.00 which is paid in six (6) months or will serve six (6) months in prison.

Shirvin Richards of West Farm was convicted for Possession of Cannabis which was committed on 18th June 2014, and fined $800.00 which is to be paid by 30th November 2014 or will serve thirty (30) days in prison.

Kelvin Hendrickson of Challengers was convicted for driving without due care and attention, and fined $600.00 which is to be paid by 30th November 2014 or will serve thirty (30) days in prison.

In other news, The Criminal Investigations Department on Nevis is investigating an armed robbery which occurred at Hicks Estate on November 2014 about2:15 PM, in which a large sum of money was stolen.

Initial investigation revealed that a Government contractor was in the process of paying a number of employees when he was attacked by three (3) armed masked assailants and robbed him of an undisclosed sum of money.

In other news, An autopsy was performed on the body of the late Kevin Newman of Earle Mornes, Bird Rock by Dr. Valery Alexandrov, pathologist at the J.N.F Mortuary on 8th November 2014. Dr. Alexandrov concluded that death was a result of a gunshot injury.
