Powell Stands Out But St. Kitts Senior Team Prevails

Sports Page–Monday 15th July 2013–It was a match that was the brain child of Stuart Williams and one which attracted quite some attention on Saturday 13th July.

The former West Indies all rounder and current National Coach in Nevis, organized a combined team of Nevis and St. Kitts under 19 players to engage the St.Kitts senior team, in a match which would effectively provide well needed practice for both teams.

The St. Kitts senior team batted first and managed a total of 123 for 7 from their allotted 30 overs.

Left arm leg spinner, Theron Bussue, picked up 3 wickets for 16 runs from his 10 overs.

The Nevis team batted well for the most part and led by the inform Ross Powell got to an eventual total of 104 for 8 from their 30 overs, with Ross Powell, like the proverbial cheese standing alone, not out on 47. Saeed Williams scored 18.
