Praise For Local CPL Organizers

(ZIZ)– Prime Minister the Right Hon. Dr Denzil Douglas has praised the local organizing committee that has worked to bring the Limacol Caribbean Premier League to St. Kitts.

During this week’s edition of “Ask the PM”, Prime Minister Douglas commended Minister Of Sports, Hon. Glenn Phillip for spearheading the process from conception to reality.

“Bringing this about involved an extraordinary amount of work.  But Minister Phillip was single-minded as he put one piece after another into place in order to ensure that this major sporting event with all the spinoff benefits, in terms of business opportunities, employment opportunities, new revenue streams, showcasing our world as a tourism destination and of course shared public enjoyment became a reality,” he said.

He also commended the various workers who have displayed their commitment to making the event a success.

“As I walked through the crowds at the Park and even as I moved elsewhere throughout the Federation, it is clear that everyone is saying ‘Well done’.  And so I thank and commend the many nationals in all the varying fields, roles, and specializations whose combined inputs and contributions also made CPL St.Kitts and Nevis possible,” he said.

The proceeds of Tuesday’s celebrity match will benefit special education and disabled persons in St. Kitts-Nevis as well as Operation Future.  Disabled persons are also being allowed to enter the matches free of charge.
