Little Bay, Montserrat — Antigua & Barbuda secured the double by defeating their arch rivals, St. Kitts by 10 runs on Sunday, 2nd November, 2014 when the two teams met in the Limited Overs Final.

On an overcast morning, St. Kitts won the toss and elected to field. Antigua’s batsmen soon found the pitch to be slow and scoring difficult. They however stuck to the task and managed to reach a respectable total of 181 all out in 44.4 overs in a match which was reduced to 45 overs per team due to several rain interruptions.

Top scorers for Antigua & Barbuda were: Orlando Peters 34, Gavin Williams 26 and Austin Richards Jr. 24. Bowling for St. Kitts, skipper Jacques Taylor had figures of 3 for 36, while Shane Jeffers had 3 for 39.

St. Kitts in reply soon found that getting to their target would be a struggle as they lost wickets early and regularly, due mainly to some accurate fast bowling by Alzarri Joseph. They managed to reach a total of 171 for 9 after 45 overs, due mainly to some clean hitting by Jeremiah Louis 49 not out, Akeem Saunders 32 and Steve Liburd 30.

Rahkeem Cornwall had figures of 2 for 15, while Hayden Walsh Jr. snatched 3 wickets for 18 runs. Antigua & Barbuda won by 10 runs and are double champions of LICA – 3 Day and Limited Overs.

During the presentation ceremony, LICA thanked the Government and people of Montserrat for their wonderful support of the finals. Individual as well as team awards were presented.
