Primary School Cricket set to commence

ZIZ Sports…June 23, 2010 – The Primary Schools on Nevis will face off at Cricket once again, as the annual TDC sponsored Primary School Cricket league bowls off on Thursday 24th June 2010.

The tournament will commence with a brief opening ceremony at Grove Park at 1pm followed immediately by the first round of matches. The grounds to be used for the tournament are:Grove Park, Ramsbury and the CSS grounds (The Villa).

According to chief Coordinator Mrs Lydia Thompson Claxton, the program which is set to culminate on July 9th is expected to be extremely competitive.

According to the schedule of matches, the participating schools are: Defending champions-Charlestown Primary, St.Thomas’ Elizabeth Pemberton Primary, Joycelyn Liburd Primary, VOJN, Ivor Walters and St.James’.

Mrs. Claxton was high in her praise for sponsors TDC as the company continues to contribute significantly to the development of the children in the Primary Schools.

Here is the schedule of matches for the first two rounds of the tournament:

Thursday 24th June: Elizabeth Pemberton Primary v Joycelyn Liburd Primary at Grove Park, Charlestown Primary v St.James’ at CSS, Friday 25th June: St.James’ Primary v Elizabeth Pemberton Primary at Grove Park and Ivor Walters Primary v VOJN Primary at CSS.
