Prime Minister Douglas says St. Kitts and Nevis is Leading Because of Good Governance

DenzilDouglas-29(ZIZ News) — The numerous development projects that the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis continues to be praised for would not have been possible without good governance.

That is the view of Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas who recently explained the hallmarks of good governance.

He said, “Effective governance ladies and gentlemen, is all about vision. Governance, effective governance, is all about the high level of competence; and governance, effective governance, I should say responsible governance, is all about focus; it is all about hard work and the ability to deliver to people to change their lives in positive and effective ways.”

Dr. Douglas’ comment came as he addressed the guests at last Thursday’s Groundbreaking Ceremony of a 0.5 Megawatt Solar Farm at Frigate Bay.

He said good governance of the twin-island nation was the reason for the progress made in transitioning the country to green energy production.

“In St. Kitts and Nevis, we no longer will read of how renewable energy can change the economic and developmental prospects of a Nation. We will be able to demonstrate it here in St. Kitts and Nevis. Our children attending schools will no longer read of this in text books and look at it on television sets. They will be able to visit this farm physically or go to the Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport and physically see for themselves, the transformation that is taking place with regard to energy,” he explained.
