Prime Minister Harris Delivers First New Year’s Address

(ZIZ News) — Prime Minister, Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris has wished the citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis a happy 2016, in his New Year’s Address, the first in his capacity as the Federation’s Prime Minister.

Dr. Harris said several new policies will be implemented in 2016, predicting growth and prosperity for the New Year.

He said “it is expected to be a period marked by continued growth, development, continued advancement, and general improvement in our domestic affairs, our human condition, our placement on the world’s stage, and our overall competitive advantage realised through trade, investment, knowledge management and national productivity.”

The Prime Minister further encouraged full participation in making the nation successful.

He said what is necessary now is for us to build upon the bridges that are being formed. He underpinned the need to take the twin-island federation to the next level.

“Together we can make it as a nation…but it starts at the individual level. Let us continue on that journey now for the good of the people of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis…and for generations yet unborn,” he added.

The New Year’s Address was themed “2016: A Year of Wonderful Possibilities and Promising Opportunities.
