Prime Minister Harris Delivers Keynote Address At Commonwealth Business Forum In Malta

(ZIZ News) — When Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris delivered the keynote address at the Commonwealth Business Forum in Malta, he highlighted the opportunities available in St. Kitts and Nevis for investors in the key economic sectors of tourism, manufacturing, financial services and agriculture.

According to his Press Secretary Clecton Phillip, Dr. Harris drew attention to the many challenges facing the Caribbean, particularly St. Kitts and Nevis, including climate change, high indebtedness and declining access to soft loans.”

However, he reportedly mentioned that “the local macroeconomic environment in St. Kitts and Nevis is showing signs of improvement; that inflation remains low, private sector confidence is growing and that St. Kitts and Nevis is projected to grow by 5% this year.”

ZIZ News understands that while in Malta, Dr. Harris met with representatives from the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Trust Foundation, an organisation working to assist government in fighting avoidable blindness and mentoring of young leaders.
