Prime Minister Harris Participates in Virtual RSS Council of Ministers Meeting
Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 18, 2022 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris today (Friday, March 18, 2022) joined his colleague Ministers of National Security for important discussions as part of the Regional Security System (RSS) Council of Ministers Meeting.
The virtual meeting featured remarks by Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, the Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit, and a presentation of the annual report by RSS Executive Director, Commodore (CDRE) Errington Shurland.
As part of the meeting, the national security ministers also looked at a recommendation to ratify the Treaty of San Jose, as well as the recommendation to ratify the Budapest Convention.
Prime Minister Harris was supported in Friday’s meeting by top security officials in St. Kitts and Nevis, including the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security, Mr. Osmond Petty; National Security Advisor, (ret.) Major General Stewart Saunders; Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hilroy Brandy, and Commander of the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force, Lt. Col. J. Anthony Comrie.
