Prime Minister Harris to Address UN General Assembly This Week

Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 21, 2019 (ZIZ News): St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister, Dr. the Honorable Timothy Harris, is leading a delegation to the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York City this week.
Prime Minister Harris and the delegation will attend and represent the twin island Federation through presentation at the UN Secretary-General’s 2019 Climate Action Summit today Monday, September 23rd 2019.
Immediately following the Climate Action Summit, the UNGA will hold a one-day high-level meeting on Universal Health Coverage.
The 74th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 74) opened on September 17 2019 while the first day of the high-level General Debate will begin on Tuesday, September 24. The 74th General Debate is being held under the theme, “Galvanizing multilateral efforts for poverty eradication, quality education, climate action and inclusion”
The UN general assembly also referred to as “the world’s parliament” is where all the UN’s 193 member states are represented.
As of Friday, a little over 90 heads of state had committed to attend the diplomatic event.
