Prison management training

(ZIZ News) — Senior staff members at Her Majesty’s Prison have been undergoing training this week in an effort to boost their effectiveness.

The Prison Management Training Courses have been held at the Police Training Complex under the guidance of International Training Consultant, John Miles.

“I’m proud to be associated with this fantastic group of people who are clearly changing their organization for the better, picking up some of our teachings along the way. But the progress they’ve made already is hugely impressive and I hope that some of the skills that we’re able to share with our colleagues will assist them in continuing their journey along the way,” he said.

Superintendent of Prisons, Junie Hodge said the session is timely as training for officials is critical

“Our management team, whatever training we can get from our colleagues locally or internationally will be most welcomed to help our programmes and the running of the facilities to be smoother so the residents there can be rehabilitated and reintegrated back into society,” he said.

According to officials, the course focuses on senior leadership and decision making.
