Quintyne at her best as Windies Women win big

CricketFilePhotoB(Sports Page) KINGSTON, Jamaica – Teenager Shaquana Quintyne had the best allround performance of her international career as West Indies Women beat New Zealand Women in the second One-Day International at Sabina Park on Tuesday.

The West Indies won by 89 runs as they rebounded from the narrow one-run defeat in the first match on Sunday. The series is now level 1-1 with the decider to be played on Thursday at Sabina Park.

The 17-year-old Quintyne topscored with 29 off 58 balls as the Windies recovered from 95-8 to post 148. She added a crucial stand of 43 for the ninth wicket with Shakera Selman, who also played well to make 22 in her 50th ODI.

Leg-spinner Quintyne then took 2 wickets for 9 runs off four overs as New Zealand were bowled out for a meagre 59 off 28.5 overs. Other good performances came from off-spinner Stafanie Taylor (8-3-10-3) and left-arm spinner Shanel Daley, who bowled 6-0-14-2 with the new ball. There were also two run outs by the athletic Deandra Dottin.
