Racing and Gaming Services and Social Committee donates this season

ZIZ NEWS– The Racing and Gaming Services and Social Committee is once again donating to those in need this season.

According to President of the Racing and Gaming Services Social Committee, Delisia Lescott, the committee has donated everyday essential items to the Cardin Home.

They are also donating food hampers to Beulah Lapsey of St. Johnston village who is singlehandedly raising her 2 grandchildren following the death of their mother.

Lescott said the Racing and Gaming Services and Social Committee is committed to helping persons throughout the community as has been demonstrated through donations since its establishment in 2006.

“These items being presented here today may not be much but it is certainly the thought that counts. In times when economic growth is not as we would like it to be, the committee, with its unselfishness and thoughtfulness still manages to raise funds to help the less fortunate yearly. RGSSC strongly believes that no one or no family should be without food this season,” she said.

Nursing assistant at the Cardin Home Larentine Edmeade received the donation on behalf of the institution.

The committee delivered the food hampers to Beulah Lapsey on Thursday.

Lescott thanked sponsors Hon. Shawn Richards, FLOW, Inception Fete, Cane Juice, Dufry and Marshalls among others for their assistance.
