(ZIZ)– The owner of Ram’s Trading Company Limited in St. Kitts and Nevis, Mr. Kishu Chandiramani, died on Sunday morning.
The cause of Mr. Chandiramani’s death is unknown at this time.
Chandiramani transformed and diversified the family business, then called the Oriental Art Palace, by opening the first Ram’s Wholesale and Ram’s Supermarket in 1960.
Since then, the company has expanded into the one of the largest chains in the federation with the help of his wife and children.
A quote on the Ram’s Supermarket Facebook page this morning read, “The entire Ram’s family is deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Kishu Chandiramani this morning. Our thoughts, prayers and condolences are extended to all his loved-ones during this difficult time.”
Kishu Chandiramani was a respected businessman in the community and a member of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for years.
He was also very instrumental in the establishment of the St. Kitts Outreach Centre, a place where the hungry and homeless are fed on a weekly basis.
