Sports Page — Red house was the dominant force as the Little Stars Nursery held its annual sports meet on Friday 27th March.
The meet was held at the grounds of the preschool, located at Victoria Road.
This meet effectively brought down the curtains on the schools’ athletic year across Nevis, as it was the final school to host its annual sports meet.
The only meet remaining is the ‘big one,’ the Gulf Insurance Primary schools’ championships or ‘mini Olympics,’ which is slated for Wednesday 1st April.
The children at the Nursery commenced their meet with a march past and then engaged in quite a number of races which included: Flat races; potato races; thread the roll; undress races; ball races; bag races; shoes races and water races.
To add to the fun, the fathers and mothers present, also faced off in races of their own.
At the end of the meet, the final point standings were:
Red house 334 points-champions
Green house 236 points-second
