Reflections of a Remarkable Teen

(ZIZ)–The 25 Most Remarkable Teens Awards are changing the lives of teenagers in St Kitts and Nevis.

Past recipients have gone on to greater accomplishments and continue their community involvement work.

One such teen is Christian Nathaniel, a 2012 Remarkable Teen Award recipient in the area of music.

In an interview with ZIZ news, he says receiving the award was a humbling moment.

“It was a really good feeling,” he said. “I felt proud, I felt honoured to be a part of this initiative. I know Ms Connie Howard, the coordinator from last year had to do a lot of searching and I feel really blessed to have attained that title.”

Nathaniel is also encouraging other young people to engage themselves in some kind of community oriented activity.

“Always be you,” he said “Don’t try to change yourselves just to get an award; if you’re going to get an award, be yourself and do it and while you’re doing that, go out and do something for your community because one of the most important thing about being a most remarkable teen is that you have to give back to your community so you go out and use your talents to the best of your ability and you give back; you volunteer — that’s the key word.”

The 2013 edition of the 25 Most Remarkable Teens Awards Ceremony takes place on Wednesday during a special sitting of the National Assembly.

The event will be carried live on ZIZ TV at 7:30pm.
