Regional HIV testing day
The citizens and residents of St. Kitts and Nevis were invited to Independence Square on Friday to find out their HIV status for the Regional HIV testing day spearheaded by the National Aids Secretariat within the ministry of health.
Health Educator and Counselor of the National Aids Secretariat within the Ministry of Health, Lucine Pemberton-Vaughn stated that the goal of this initiative is to help as many persons as possible find out their status.
The tests were done confidentially under the tent in the square or in their mobile testing center.
The national aids secretariat also used the occasion to reinforce the practice of safe sex to protect against the transmission of Hiv and other sexually transmitted illnesses.
