Regional Port Managers’ Meeting

ZIZ News…June 20, 2013 — Port Managers from the across the Caribbean are meeting this week to plan the way forward for the sector.

The Sixteenth Annual General Meeting of The Port Management Association of the Caribbean is being held at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.

Jonathan Bass, CEO of the St. Christopher Air And Seaport Authority spoke to us about some of the major topics they’ll be discussing.

Minister of International Trade, The Hon Richard Skerritt called for a high level of efficiency at Caribbean Ports. This would lead to lower costs and savings that would be passed on to consumers.

The discussions and technical sessions wrap up on Friday and will cover topics including global environment issues, energy management, and implementing technology to improve effectiveness.
