Return Forms mailed out, 657 businesses now registered for VAT

ST. KITTS, NOVEMBER 29, 2010 – Return forms for the Unincorporated Business Tax and the Value Added Tax (VAT) Return Forms have been mailed to businesses by the Inland Revenue Department.

That’s according to the Ministry of Finance, which disclosed that a total of 657 businesses were registered to collect VAT on November 24th.

478 businesses are registered in St. Kitts and 179 in Nevis.

To date, the Tax Reform Unit officials have made 377 advisory visits – 227 in St. Kitts and 150 in Nevis. With respect to compliance, 52 visits have been made on Nevis and 146 on St. Kitts.

Tax Reform Unit officials will make themselves available to visit businesses during the first two weeks of December to assist them in completing their VAT Returns.

The Unit will be opened on Saturday 4th December and Saturday 11th December to assist taxpayers in completing their first VAT Return.
