Richards Publicly Recognises Carnival Sponsors

(ZIZ News) — The country’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, the Hon. Shawn Richards, has publicly recorded appreciation to this year’s National Carnival or Sugar Mas sponsors.

During the adjourning moments of Monday night’s Budget Debate, Richards said he is particularly pleased that businesses care so much about the Federation’s biggest cultural festival.

“We have had quite a number of sponsors this year. We know it’s not cheap this year but I think in the interest of National Carnival and giving back to the community, they have come forward to assist with the hosting of our carnival activities,” he said.

Minister Richards also encouraged residents of and visitors to St. Kitts and Nevis to support the various events, noting that they are off to a great start.

“I note that my colleagues have asked persons to exercise caution during the Carnival season, by extension the Carnival activities and of course, I also would want persons to do so but I also want persons to ensure that they turn out and support the various carnival activities,” he said.
