Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 26 2021 (ZIZ News) The Rotary Club of Liamuiga launched a mask-wearing campaign on Monday to promote the wearing of facemasks among the public to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The campaign is called “I Wear a Mask Because…” and in a video posted to the club’s Youtube channel, members of the club shared why they wear their facemasks.

In an interview with ZIZ news, President of the club, Deniece Alleyne explained that this initiative is in an effort to keep the rate of Covid-19 infections low in the federation.

She explained that she anticipates the club will be doing more during the campaign.

“I anticipate that we will do other activities, we’re going to donate also thermometers to institutions that house the elderly, we’ve also done a mask donation to the Saddlers home so I suspect there’s going to be ongoing activities as the pandemic is going to be around for a while.”
