Basseterre, St. Kitts – On a rainy Saturday afternoon, members of the Rotary Club of Liamuiga and the Rotary Club of St. Kitts came together at the RLB International Airport to welcome 5 fellow Rotarians from the United Kingdom. Both Clubs will be hosting a Rotary Foundation Group Study Exchange (GSE) Team Visit during the period March 30th to April 6th, 2013. St. Kitts will be the first of five islands to be visited within the Clubs’ Rotary District #7030.

The Rotary Foundation’s GSE programme is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for business people and professionals between the ages of twenty five (25) and forty (40) who are in the early stages of their careers. The programme provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits in paired areas of different countries. For four to six weeks, team members experience the host country’s culture and institutions, observe how their vocations are practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships and exchange ideas.

During the 7-day visit GSE Team members will visit local companies and organizations based in their vocational fields. Their vocational interests range from project management and renewable energy to healthcare and public relations. The team will also pay courtesy calls to senior Government officials.
