Rotary Clubs promoting awareness

ValentineHodgeHeadshotB(ZIZ) The two Rotary Clubs in St Kitts will be coming together this week for the hosting of a joint panel discussion on the importance of the work of Rotarians.

January is observed as Rotary Awareness Month and is celebrated by Rotary International and all Rotary Clubs throughout the world each year including the Rotary Clubs of Liamuiga and the Rotary Club of St Kitts.

President of the Rotary Club of Liamuiga, Valentine Hodge says the panel discussion will coincide with the visit of the governor for this district.

“He will be visiting St Kitts from January 9th until January 11th and while he is here we would obviously want to show him a bit of the country and show him a bit of what we are doing,” he said.

President Hodge outlined some of the areas that will be covered during the discussions.

“We’re going to be talking about rotary awareness in the sense of what we can do in the community to improve it. Rotary is all about projects within the community and in the society and helping people to live better; we give out care packages; we run projects that affect the lives of the community,” he said.

The joint rotary panel discussion will be held on Thursday January 9th at the St George’s Anglican Church Hall starting at 4:30 p.m.

Panelists will include District Governor Herve Honore of The Rotary Club of Francois, Martinique; Assistant District Governor Trevor Blake and representatives of both Rotary Clubs on St. Kitts.
