Bird Rock, Basseterre, St. Kitts (February 17, 2017) – The St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority on Friday 10th, February 2017 disseminated a notice to the local media on measures taken at the Basseterre Ferry Terminal with respect to the shipment of cargo and the safety of passengers coming through the Ferry Terminal. This press release seeks to clarify the nature of cargo shipment then referenced which specifically relates to containerized cargo, flat bed/flat rack, pontoon shipment and flammable cargo.
Once again the Authority reiterates that its decision of requesting that all such cargo shipments as referred to above, be done at the Deep Water Port, was always predicated on the interest of the safety of the travelling public through our facility, and is a decision that it will steadfastly uphold.
