SCASPA Improvement Projects

ZIZ News…27th May 2013 — The St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) is presently undertaking a number of improvement projects that will affect both Air and Sea arrivals.

As ZIZ Channel Five’s Kilony Johnson reports, some of these projects are expected to be completed in a matter of months.

The recently announcement plan to add a second pier at Port Zante is expected to significantly increase cruise passenger arrivals to St. Kitts in the near future.

But that is not the only project being undertaken that will boost tourists arrivals and business in general in the federation.

The St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority recently rolled out several projects — some of which are expected to be completed this year.

CEO of SCASPA, Jonathan Bass says work is being to facilitate larger vessels at the Sea Port.

He says they will also be making some improvements to the current runway at the RLB International Airport.

Bass also made mention of the Private Jet Terminal, which began construction last year.

Construction of the second pier at Port Zante is expected to begin in October or September of this year and be completed by November 2014.

It is expected that the pier will be able to accommodate two oasis class cruise ships at the same time.
