School Liaison Officer Programme to be introduced in all primary schools

ZIZ NEWSROOM– KB

As the Police Force expands its community policing efforts and broadens the work being done with the federation’s youth, a School Liaison Officer Programme is being implemented in primary schools across the country.

The Force’s community policing efforts in this area was the topic of discussion on Thursday’s edition of Policing With You as Force Personnel Officer Clifford Govia and Divisional Commander For District “C” Superintendent Lyndon David joined inspector Edwards on the weekly programme on ZIZ Radio.

Mr. Govia said the School Liaison Officer Programme will be fully implemented in all primary schools as an extension of the taps programme.

Superintendent David said the Force has been working to intensify its efforts in the area of community policing.

Supt. David noted that several initiatives have already been put in place by the ministry of national security as part of a national intervention strategy.

Programmes include the Explorers Clubs, which are also expected to be implemented in Nevis, the Police Drum Corps and the TAPS Programme.

Policing With You is aired on Ziz Radio every Thursday at 9:15am.
