SDA jets Shackle Police

The scheduled matches in the Nevis Sports Department/Development Bank tape ball cricket league for Friday 29th November were not played due to some unforeseen circumstances.  However the action continued at the ET Willet Park on Monday 2nd December with one game as SDA Jets engaged a highly spirited Police team.

The Police team won the toss and elected to send the Jets men to bat first and bowled superbly for starters. After the 7th over, the Jets team was not too happily placed on just 44 runs but tie the next 3 overs produced all of 36 runs with the final over yielding 19 runs.

The Jets team 80 for 7 in 10 overs.  Extras topscored with a healthy 29 which included 22 wides.  Elroy JIMBO David batted through with a well played 20 not out and Venrick Newton struck 13.

Police in response got off to an impressive start with Huggins again playing some superlative strokes at the top of the innings and Laborde coming to the party a little later.

However, the Jets men tightened the shackles and the law men succumbed to the pressure and managed 66 for 7 when their 10 overs ran out.

Huggins top scored with 27; Laborde got 12 and Charles 7. The Jets men gave up just 4 wides as extras in return in winning the game by 14 runs.

The next scheduled games will be on Wednesday 4th December when Butlers females plays Rozel’s team at 6 pm and Church Ground and Rawlins Bush wackers will play the second game.
