Seafood Festival And Farmers Market Held As Part Of World Food Day Activities

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 17th , 2020 (ZIZ News): Seafood, local foods, fruits and products were on display for the public to consume at the Seafood/Fish festival and Farmer’s Market on Friday.

While present at the festival which was held at the Basseterre Fisheries Complex, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Ron Dublin Collins explained the purpose of the festival.

ZIZ also spoke with the Director of Agriculture, Mr. Melvin James who shared what was showcased at the event.

James also used the opportunity to speak of a new variety of sweet potato that were on the scene.

The Fish festival formed part of activities being held to celebrate World Food Day which is observed each year on October 16.

World Food Day 2020, was celebrated under the theme “Grow, Nourish, Sustain. Together.”
