Second road fatality recorded for 2012

TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT, (June 30th 2012) — The Traffic Department is investigating its second road fatality for 2012.

The accident occurred along Wellington Road at about 3:30 pm on June 29th, involving motor cycle PA4879 driven by Tyrone Fyfield of Newtown and motor omnibus H902 driven by Dwight Harris of Tabernacle.

Investigations revealed that the motor cycle was exiting Florence Nightingale Street at New Pond Site and the bus was traveling from Baker’s Corner along Wellington Road, when both vehicles collided.

Fyfield sustained injuries and was taken to the JNF Hospital by the Emergency Medical Services, where he later died. Both vehicles were damaged.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Investigations are ongoing.
