Self Employed Symposium

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 12, 2020 (ZIZ News):Thriving in a post-Covid 19 world was the main focus of a symposium organized by the Social Security Board, specifically targeting self-employed persons.

The event was held at the Caribbean Confederation of Credit Union building and included several speakers addressing various topics related to small business survival in a world impacted by Covid-19.

During the symposium’s opening ceremony, CEO of the Social Security Board Antonio Maynard noted that the sessions are part of the Board’s overall commitment to assist persons who have been negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mr Maynard encouraged the participants to raise any questions or concerns they may have regarding coverage for self-employed persons including what incentives or benefits they would like to see from the Social Security Board.

Topics covered included “Insurance Options to supplement your social security coverage”, “Small Business Management 101”, “Using Social Media & Technology for Profitability”, and “Rebuilding in the Covid economy”.
