Sports Page — Seniors’ coordinator at the Social Services Department on Nevis, Mrs. Garcia Hendrickson, indicated on Monday that practice sessions for the seniors towards their historic fun and action sports day, are going well.
She advised that the next practice session is set for Thursday 24th September, followed by another on Thursday 1st October. Sessions will commence at 10 am at the ET Willet Park.
There will be no practice sessions this week as the seniors will take a break during the Independence celebrations.
Leading the training sessions, would be National trainer on Nevis, Masefield Nisbett who previously indicated that the seniors had ‘surprised’ him in terms of their zeal and enthusiasm as they prepare for the meet. He opined that the general public is in for a great treat come Thursday 15th October.
Mrs. Hendrickson meanwhile, is calling on the senior males on the island to come out and be a part of the practice sessions and also the grand meet.
Interestingly, the senior women are the ones who are showing up in their numbers.
She is also reminding all participating seniors to ensure that they check with their respective doctors before they engage in any serious training exercises.
