Shade house to expose children and affiliates of the St. Christopher Children’s Home to agricultural practises

(ZIZ News) – The newly opened shade house at the St. Christopher children’s home will expose residents of the home and persons in the community to the many aspects of agricultural practises.

This is according to National Coordinator of GEF SGP St. Kitts and Nevis, Mrs. Illis Watts who also explained that the project received financial backing from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme.

Mrs. Watts also used the opportunity to encourage other groups and organizations to contact the office at the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme to kick start projects similar to the Shade House.

She then thanked and congratulated all persons who helped with the development of the St. Christopher Children’s Home Shade House project.

Cucumbers, broccoli, parsley and lettuce have already been harvested at the Shade House during its experimental phase.
