Sign language to be taught at CFBC

ZIZ News — Sign language will soon be taught at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College.

Azilla Clarke, Director of Social Development and Community Affairs, says it is important to for persons to learn another language and sign language gives that opportunity.

“We will be working with CFB in the upcoming year to offer sign language courses so that others can build that capacity but we do want to say that it is an area of burgeoning need around the federation so persons should make every opportunity to become—to learn a different language and sign language offers you one such opportunity,” she said.

Sign language has been used recently at the budget address as part of a UNESCO-sponsored project designed to raise the sensitization of human rights of persons with disabilities.
