Significance of Celebrating Teachers

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 2, 2019 (ZIZ News): The Ministry of Education will join the rest of the world in celebrating teachers for the upcoming World Teachers’ Day on October 5, 2019, under the theme ‘Young Teachers: The Future of the Profession’.

World Teachers’ Day commemorates the teaching profession’s contribution to educating the children of the world.

In a recent interview with ZIZ news, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, William Hodge explains the importance of celebrating teachers, noting that teachers need to feel the support of the community.

Mr Hodge explained that the ministry tries to support the nation’s teachers by providing resources that will allow for them to do their job efficiently and effectively.

He also invites businesses in the private sector to partner with the ministry in an effort to support teachers.
