Sir Clement Arrindell dies at 79

ZIZ NEWSROOM, MARCH 27, BASSETERRE – Colleagues, friends, and family members are mourning the death of the first Governor General of St. Kitts and Nevis, Sir Clement Arrindell.

Sir Clement passed away in hospital on Saturday afternoon. He was 79 years old.

He was hospitalized since Monday. Details on his illness are currently unavailable but we will keep you informed as soon as we learn more.

Sir Clement served as governor general from 1983 to 1996.

Before that, he was a barrister at law and a puisne judge.

He received knighthood in 1983 and retired in 1996.
